Band of Rain
Chris Gill writer and performer
I wonder if Mr. Gill's inspiration was the Fog by any chance?
Mesmerizing, Hypnotic, Ethereal, Dreamy,Airy and Addictive. just some words that pop into my head when you mention Band of Rain's music. The music has a way of getting into your head and sticking to your Spirit, Soul, Body, and Mind.
some what like a fog.it just has a way of absorbing you.
by far one of the two best albums I heard this year
Ghost town starts the album off
has almost a Middle Eastern feel to it,
Mr. Gill has a wonderful voice that fits the music well and some wonderful guitar playing
not really fancy just really a nice smoothe flow to it.
Test PiloT ~ Nice soundscapes almost like being in a dream state.
Voyager ~ you can almost feel the vastness in this song as it really sounds like some kinda voyage
some strange Middle Eastern sounds again, almost like your hair blowing in the wind as you speed along the highway in the Sahara desert.
very hypnotic
All Moonlit Through The Trees ~ Genever Morgan vocals is just right to give the song a warmest feeling.
for some reason I can picture a snow storm in the warm glow of the moonlight
Magnetic South ~ Wow! love the bells, big fat synth sound, really nice chillin music. some wonderful solo's .fantastic
The Flying Sorcerers ~ This song reminds me of Frank Marino in a way but yet still retains the Band of Rain sound.
Lady Even Star ~ this song starts out mellow and slowly and builds up into a rocking tune
Beneath The Tree ~ OOOOO Love the tone on that guitar almost like a bluesy ZZ Top song.
Moon On The Mountain ~ a very americana sound that really rocks as a blues tune, but it's not blues
Garlands ~ A really nice lullaby to sort of wind things down a little.
Clouds ~ oh man I just love that fuzzy guitar sound
wonderful solo's and soundscapes. nice ending to a fantastic album
